A culinary competition to celebrate World Tuna Day (2 May) and showcase sustainable tuna and northern bonito from Bermeo: tradition, innovation and flavour in the town’s bars.
The Bermeo Tuna Pintxo Lehiaketa is an initiative promoted by Bermeo Tuna that invites you to explore Bermeo whilst sampling pintxos made with sustainable tuna and albacore, sourced from the local fleet and from canneries and businesses in the area.
It was created with a clear aim: to highlight the product, its link to Bermeo’s fishing tradition, and the work of the local hospitality industry in innovating with sustainable offerings.
An ‘ocean-to-table’ experience that combines gastronomy, culture and sustainability to showcase Bermeo Tuna’s comprehensive tuna value chain model: traceability, shared responsibility, and environmental, social and economic commitment.
